The Behavioral Husbandry Team
| The Behavioral Husbandry (BH) Team consists of two zoological managers and one curator. They provide leadership to the enrichment and training program for Walt Disney World Animal Programs. The BH team assists area curators, veterinarians, zoological managers, scientists and keepers in implementing environmental enrichment and animal training programs. They coordinate area program continuity and quality assurance of behavioral husbandry techniques including animal training, enrichment, program framework and problem-solving. These are accomplished by park-wide staff training in the field and classroom. The BH team observes and coaches techniques used in the areas. |
Behavioral Husbandry Focus Group
The Behavioral Husbandry Focus Group is a gathering of all levels of management that represent the animal care, nutrition and veterinary services. This group is a forum for sharing best practices and challenges with the behavioral husbandry program in their area and globally. This group provides on-going input that is critical to the continued growth and evolution of the Behavioral Husbandry program. |
Behavioral Husbandry Keeper Group
The Behavioral Husbandry Keeper Group was formed with the goal of inspiring enthusiasm for enrichment and training and the on-going implementation of the program objectives. This group brings together keepers, trainers and aquarist to represent the needs of animal programs. They provide members with a direct opportunity for participation and influence in the Behavioral Husbandry Program. |
